Certain Guidelines – Writing an essay is done following certain guidelines. These guidelines include choosing a topic you love and very knowledgeable in, planning your writing process and carrying out the plan which are the general guidelines. Overall, your writing can be successful and effective if you complete one that is interesting and informative.

No Hard and Fast Rules – The guidelines in essay writing mentioned and others ones are followed in going about the process of writing. However, even though they are specific, they are not absolutely strict. There are no hard and fast rules; you go through the process of your writing using the specific guidelines by modifying them to suit your needs and help you succeed in your writing.

Mixing and Matching the Structure and Freedom – With the structure of the specific guidelines and the      freedom with the rules, you should strike the best balance for you. Mix and match the guidelines with the freedom you need in writing towards the goal of success. A great portion of your success also depend on your talent and attitude. To add, aside from the specific guidelines, you should also incorporate mentor advice, professional how-to's and college tips.
